Boating & Coronavirus

The opening day of boating season is fast approaching for many of us across the country. Many celebrations will most likely be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Boating is a great activity to practice social distancing as long as you take the necessary precautions. The only passengers allowed on board should be those members of your immediate household. Even your closest fishing buddies & extended family members cannot be allowed on board. In addition, flotillas & tying up to other boats should be avoided as well.

Thinking ahead, you will want to check in your local marinas, boat launches, & fuel docks for closures during this time. When at the fuel docks, be sure to maintain a safe distance from other people and always sanitize and wash your hands after handling the pumps. Keeping a bottle of hand sanitizer & soap on board is a great practice. In addition to these precautions, be sure to not put yourself or others at risk of any injury, many hospitals are running low on capacity during the coronavirus pandemic. Stay safe & have a happy boating season!
